Do you have a website in mind that is going to rock the internet world by having millions of visits per day? Then there is an urgent need to implement search engine optimization on your website. There are various tips available on the internet which can drive you crazy. SEO is such a diverse field that things keep on changing every day. The technique which has made you reach the top spot one day can back fire and put you down in search engine results.

The latest trend in the internet marketing field is to follow the leaders who have occupied the top spot for a very long time. People even forget to revise the needs and requirements of their website in the pursuit to be the number one. They never hesitate to do the copy book stuff which really shatters the chances of their website going up.

Now I am throwing a light on some evergreen techniques which will make you the undisputed champion of the Internet Marketing World.

Keyword Mystery:
Keywords power relies not only in the search volume and competition count but how smartly we utilize them to market our business. Sometimes even the keywords with low search volume do the job for us. Let me make it simpler for you, suppose you had a successful online marketing campaign with some specific keywords. According to the human nature, we develop a mindset that if we work with the same set of keywords In the future, then we will be successful again. This is the biggest mistake one can easily make while running an online marketing campaign, as the popularity of keywords varies with time. So the moral of the story is to do detailed research of the keywords and give space to those keywords which have low search volume but are profitable for your business.

Power of Link Exchange: There is a common myth regarding link exchange that link exchange is unethical technique to shoot up the ranking of your website. This is totally a misconception because if you have inbound links for your website from relevant and high quality website then more than half of your SEO work is done. Because search engines start giving you respect if you have your links placed on some very reputable websites. The hidden truth about link exchange which webmasters generally ignore is that it indirectly promotes the business as we fall in the chain of link exchanges which helps our affiliate business.

Update your SEO inventory: SEO is a very vast field. Everyday new challenges keep on emerging in front of you and to cross these barriers you have to stay updated. Webmasters keep on doing one and the same thing again and again which they think will surely make them successful. We can make the traditional or orthodox methods of SEO more effective and fruitful by including these advanced techniques. It is advisable to learn new things but the most important thing is to experiment with them, so that they can be used effectively for the promotion of the website.

Choosing the Most Appropriate Platform: One of the major aspects of SEO on which webmasters generally get confused is, which is the most appropriate platform for a website which can shoot up the business. The most crucial thing is to make a list of all your requirements and depending upon those requirements chooses the best possible platform for your website. With the advancement of technology dynamic platforms like Wordpress, Oscomerce, business catalyst, Magento and Joomla are easily available and have replaced the traditional static platforms which were difficult to customize. So it is better to take expert opinion before choosing a platform for your website as it directly affects the performance of your website.

Performance Overview: keeping an eye on the performance of your website is very important. This will tell you about the area which needs improvement. By Regular website testing, we can lower down the website errors such as broken links, functionality errors, graphic errors, compatibility errors etc.

How to write protect your USB - Prevent spreading of viruses

Many a time, it becomes necessary for us to write protect our USB flash drive so as to protect it from viruses and other malware programs. Because flash drives are so popular and most widely used to move data between computers, they are the prime target for attackers as a means to get infections spread around the computer world. You can also find some ready made softwares that will solve the this purpose but here I will explain you what basically these softwares do so that you can manually do it yourself.
This can be done by adding a small entry to the Windows registry which acts as a switch that can be enabled to make use of the write protection or disabled to allow write access.
Just follow these steps:

1. Open the Registry Editor (Open the “Run” dialog box, type regedit and hit “Enter”).

2. Navigate to the following Registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\

3. Create a New Key named as StorageDevicePolicies. To do this right-click on Control, and click on New>Key and name it as StorageDevicePolicies.

4. Now right-click on  StorageDevicePolicies and create a New->DWORD (32-bit) Value and name it as WriteProtect.

5. Double-click on WriteProtect and set the Value data to 1.

Now the right-protection for USB drives is enabled on your computer (no restart required) and thus it would not be possible for anyone or any program to add/delete the contents from your USB flash drive. Any attempt to copy or download the files onto the USB drive will result in the following error message being displayed.

To revert and remove the write-protection, all you need to do is just change the Value data for WriteProtect (Step-5) from 1 back to 0. Now write access to all the USB devices is re-enabled.

Are Google search results just crap ??

I have been using google since I was in 6th standard. There has been a great change in the web in past one decade . The web has become far more interactive and social . There have been lot many new features that i had never assumed that it will be there in the web. The biggest change that i have noticed is the social part of the web. Its now one of the biggest part of web traffic . The presence of social graph has totally changed the structure of the web. Considering the non-social aspects like sending emails,ICQ etc have grown steadly too.
But one thing that i feel hasent changed much is the search engines.
Search engines are of real importance to the web and its users but i still don't find them as interactive. According to me,since my 6th standard and till today the only thing that has not changed is the search engines and there interactivity. Google has climbed steadly in the Wall Street , yahoo and bing have thrown enormous amount of money but still the things have not changed alot.
Consider these snapshots that i took while i was searching on google.

Obviously the auto suggest feature is a new ajax technology that google has implemented but uptill now it has disapointed me ost of the times .
Even if we concentrate on the search results then that is also looking more or less the same .
I personally feel that google is now leaving its roots and entering into the same bad idea which the other search engines are accused of and that is "the more you pay the higher you appear in the results".
The competition to rule the search market is very fierce but instead of making it more interactive and communicative , it has become more and more difficult to search and use.
If you are looking for some popular content then obviously search results will be very fruitful to you but consider the search results of some rare cromo-thermo dynamics search , and google is gone .
I dont blame Google . The internet has become way too crowded with informaition and it is really difficult to find the most relevant one . So the search engines are also getting trapped into it.
What i now believe is that Google holds a big responsibility to filter out the contents in a better way and use its resources to help its user gain better search experience .
I wish my son can have a better feel of google.

Hide Your Online status from selective people in your friend list on Facebook - must know for all

Look, don’t feel bad about it. When I first joined Facebook I left my online status wide open. After a couple of weeks of getting inundated with nonstop chat requests, I simply turned off my online status completely. Problem solved. Except, there really were certain people I wouldn’t mind hearing from – is it really fair for a few chatterbox buddies to ruin your chances for communicating with everyone? Well, there is a way for you to selectively block your online status from certain people.

facebook profile customise
All you have to do is open up your chat icon in the lower right corner of your Facebook display, click on Friend Lists, and create a new list called “BlockList.” Make sure after you create it that it’s configured under “Display these lists in Chat.”
facebook profile customise
Now, all you have to do is either click “edit” and add the friends you want to block, or if they’re already online, just click their name and drag them under this new list. Once you’ve got everyone there who you want to block from see your online status, hover your mouse over the green dot to the right and click on “Go Offline.” Now, you appear offline to only those certainfriends.
Facebook, unlike MySpace, is not really easy to tweak – which is actually a good thing. Gone are the days of those horrid eye-bleeding pages with pink flashing backgrounds and instant music that you can’t turn off. However, the tweaks and plug-ins in the list above offer at least a few ways to customize your Facebook account and usage to suit your life and your personality.
You can also read more about cool facebook tricks(click this).

IOCTL Fuzzer v1.2 – Scan for venerabilities in Windows

IOCTL Fuzzer is a tool designed to automate the task of searching vulnerabilities in Windows kernel drivers by performing fuzz tests on them.
The fuzzer’s own driver hooks NtDeviceIoControlFile in order to take control of all IOCTL requests throughout the system.
While processing IOCTLs, the fuzzer will spoof those IOCTLs conforming to conditions specified in the configuration file. A spoofed IOCTL is identical to the original in all respects except the input data, which is changed to randomly generated fuzz.
IOCTL Fuzzer works on Windows XP, 2003 Server, Vista, Windows 7 and 2008 Server.

Dummies Guide To IPv6 - Analysis of the Next generation web addresssing

Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) is a network layer protocol that enables data communications over a packet switched network. Packet switching involves the sending and receiving of data in packets between two nodes in a network. The working standard for the IPv6 protocol was published by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) in 1998. The IETF specification for IPv6 is RFC 2460. IPv6 was intended to replace the widely used Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4) that is considered the backbone of the modern Internet. IPv6 is often referred to as the "next generation Internet" because of it's expanded capabilities and it's growth through recent large scale deployments. In 2004, Japan and Korea were acknowledged as having the first public deployments of IPv6.

Even if you’ve never studied IPv6, you may know about its most famous feature: big addresses. IPv4 uses 32-bit addresses, and with the growth of the Internet, these have become a scarce and valuable commodity. Organizations have gone to great lengths to deal with the shortage and high cost of IPv4 addresses. The most visible change in IPv6 is that addresses balloon from 32-bits to 128-bits.

Feature
Change
Address SpaceIncrease from 32-bit to 128-bit address space
ManagementStateless autoconfiguration means no more need to configure IP addresses for end systems, even via DHCP
PerformancePredictable header sizes and 64-bit header alignment mean better performance from routers and bridges/switches
Multicast/MultimediaBuilt-in features for multicast groups, management, and new "anycast" groups
Mobile IPEliminate triangular routing and simplify deployment of mobile IP-based systems
Virtual Private NetworksBuilt-in support for ESP/AH encrypted/authenticated virtual private network protocols; built-in support for QoS tagging

With such a huge address space, ISPs will have sufficient IP addresses to allocate enough addresses to every customer so that every IP device has a truly unique address---whether it’s behind a firewall or not. NAT (network address translation) has become a very common technique to deal with the shortage of IP addresses. Unfortunately, NAT doesn’t work very well for many Internet applications, ranging from old dependables, such as NFS and DNS, to newer applications such as group conferencing. NAT has also been an impediment for business-to-business direct network connections, requiring baroque and elaborate address translators to make everything work reliably, scaling poorly, and offering a highly vulnerable single point of failure. One of the goals of IPv6’s address space expansion is to make NAT unnecessary, improving total connectivity, reliability, and flexibility. IPv6 will re-establish transparency and end-to-end traffic across the Internet.

A look into the addressing format

The most important feature of IPv6 is a much larger address space than in IPv4. The length of an IPv6 address is 128 bits, compared to 32 bits in IPv4. The address space therefore supports 2128 or approximately 3.4×1038  addresses. By comparison, this amounts to approximately 5×1028
addresses for each of the 6.8 billion people alive in 2010. While these numbers are very large, it was not the intent of the designers of the IPv6 address space to assure geographical saturation with usable addresses. Rather, the longer addresses simplify allocation of addresses, enable efficient route aggregation, and implementation of special addressing features. In IPv4, complex Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR) methods were developed to make the best use of the small address space. The standard size of a subnet in IPv6 is 264 addresses, the square of the size of the entire IPv4 address space. Thus, actual address space utilization rates will be small in IPv6, but network management and routing efficiency is improved by the large subnet space and hierarchical route aggregation.
Renumbering an existing network for a new connectivity provider with different routing prefixes is a major effort with IPv4. With IPv6, however, changing the prefix announced by a few routers can in principle renumber an entire network since the host identifiers (the least-significant 64 bits of an address) can be independently self-configured by a host.

IPv6 addresses have two logical parts: a 64-bit network prefix, and a 64-bit host address part. (The host address is often automatically generated from the interface MAC address.) An IPv6 address is represented by 8 groups of 16-bit hexadecimal values separated by colons (:) shown as follows:
A typical example of an IPv6 address is
2001:0db8:85a3:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7334.
The hexadecimal digits are case-insensitive.
The 128-bit IPv6 address can be abbreviated with the following rules:
Rule one: Leading zeroes within a 16-bit value may be omitted. For example, the address fe80:0000:0000:0000:0202:b3ff:fe1e:8329 may be written as fe80:0:0:0:202:b3ff:fe1e:8329
Rule two: A single occurrence of consecutive groups of zeroes within an address may be replaced by a double colon. For example, fe80:0:0:0:202:b3ff:fe1e:8329 becomes fe80::202:b3ff:fe1e:8329

Packet Format

The IPv6 packet is composed of two parts: the packet header and the payload. The header consists of a fixed portion with minimal functionality required for all packets and may contain optional extension to implement special features.
The fixed header occupies the first 40 octets (320 bits) of the IPv6 packet. It contains the source and destination addresses, traffic classification options, a hop counter, and a pointer for extension headers if any. The Next Header field, present in each extension as well, points to the next element in the chain of extensions. The last field points to the upper-layer protocol that is carried in the packet's payload.
Extension headers carry options that are used for special treatment of a packet in the network, e.g., for routing, fragmentation, and for security using the IPsec framework.
The payload can have a size of up to 64KiB without special options, or larger with a jumbo payload option in a Hop-By-Hop Options extension header.

Apple is the most valuable Tech Firm. What about TCS and other Indian Tech companies.

Yes, Apple is the most valuable tech company in the world by $100 billion dollars. To put that in some perspective: the market cap of HP is $105 billion. Apple is now worth an HP more than every other tech company.

In fact, not only is it clear now that Microsoft will not be re-taking the crown as the most-valuable tech company any time soon, but they’re flirting with being knocked down to the number three — or even number four spot. In the past year, while Microsoft’s stock is down slightly, Google’s is up nearly $100-a-share. This has allowed the search giant to surpass the $200 billion market cap themselves. And they’re now just $28 billion away from Microsoft.
To put it another way, Google is much closer to Microsoft in terms of market cap than Apple was when I wrote that post last year. Another killer quarter and Google may be able to take them down as well.
Meanwhile, IBM is a little bit closer at $202 billion. Their stock is up nearly 40 points in the past year. They have a shot of passing Microsoft too.
Indian tech Companies and their Market Cap
Indian market also saw some turn overs last year just like the Apple-Microsoft turnover. TCS overtook Infosys to become the biggest Tech company in India and now TCS is the second biggest market cap company in india after Reliance.
TCS, which was the top gainer among the country's 10 most valuable companies in the last week, saw its valuation surging by Rs 18,378.11 crore to Rs 2,37,330 crore in the week which is around 45 billion $ . Infosys saw some loss in shares and is currently valued around 40 billion $ . The third major Wipro is also amongst the oldest of Indian tech companies and is currently valued around 32 billion $ .
A comparison between the world's best and India's best
At the same time, Indian companies stand nowhere, even collectively, and there can be no comparison at all on individual levels.
The top 10 IT companies comprising the BSE IT index currently command a combined market cap of little over 150 billion $. This is less than half of the marketcap of either Apple or Microsoft.
Indian companies are still lagging behind with a huge margin . What i personally feel is that Indian companies focus more on providing services rather than development . We always say that we have progressed alot in the IT industry and today world knows India by the IT power house but we are still a way behind them in terms of market cap , global reach and technology .
The path is still tough and the Indian Tech companies still have to travel a long way.

SNORT - The best intrusion detection software(IDS) - Download !!

Snort - open source IDS - theprohack.com

If you are in security, you might have heard of an Intrusion Detection system, which is a device or mechanism that monitors network and/or system activities for malicious or unwanted behavior and can react, in real-time, to block or prevent those activities. There are a lot of professional IDS available for commercial use,but when it comes to being free as freedom (read:open source), Snort is my favorite.

Snort can be run in 4 modes:
  1. sniffer mode: snort will read the network traffic and print them to the screen.
  2. packet logger mode: snort will record the network traffic on a file
  3. IDS mode: network traffic matching security rules will be recorded (mode used in our tutorial)
  4. IPS mode: also known as snort-inline (IPS = Intrusion prevention system)

Beware of the Valentine's Day virus/spam

Spam trumpeting the power of love is nothing more than an old trick dressed up in new clothes, more evidence that the backers of the Waledec bot Trojan are the same bunch that hammered users in 2007 with Storm, security companies are warning.
Multiple security vendors, including MX Logic Inc., Trend Micro Inc., and Panda Security, have issued alerts about new Valentine's Day-themed spam campaigns that try to dupe users into installing the Waledec bot.

Subject lines for the spam, said Sam Masiello , vice president of information security at MX Logic, are "short and sweet," and include "Me and You," "In Your Arms" and "With all my love." From the spam, users who browse to the embedded link reach a site with a dozen hearts, any one of which download an executable file when clicked.

Masiello first noted the campaign last Thursday, but other researchers, including those at Trend Micro and Panda, picked up on the trend Monday. Both Masiello and Florabel Baetiong, an anti-spam research engineer with Trend, noted the similarity between the recent infection attempt and Valentine's Day scams launched last year by hackers controlling Storm, another bot Trojan that has since fallen into disuse, possibly because the crew responsible surrendered to heavy pressure by security experts .

"Clearly the old Storm folks are working as hard as they can to build up their new botnet, and are following the old tried-and-true methods of centering their social engineering tactics around holiday themes," said Masiello in a post to the MX Logic blog .
Storm used Valentine's Day spam in both 2007 and 2008 to hijack PCs.
Most researchers have come around to the idea that Waledec is, in fact, the new Storm. Joe Stewart , an expert on botnets -- Storm, in particular -- was confident that the group that backed Storm essentially re-wrote its code to come up with Waledec. "If it's not the same people, they would have had to study Storm intensively to match the functionality," Stewart said in an interview recently. "It's so similar that it's unlikely to be a different group."

The Waldec malware first began infecting systems just before Christmas , when it used phony holiday greetings and e-cards as bait, another Storm tactic during 2008. Last week, it surfaced again, this time hitchhiking on a spam run that claimed then President-elect Barack Obama would not take the oath of office on Jan. 20.

Although the Waledec botnet remains relatively small -- Stewart put it at just 10,000 machines -- it's growing at "an alarming rate," according to MessageLabs Ltd. In a report on botnets the e-mail security company released Monday (download PDF) , MessageLabs speculated that the botnet owners are "focusing on growing and developing this new botnet, rather than sending spam through it at this stage."

Masiello said that messages designed to plant Waledec were running at a volume of about 4,000-5,000 per hour, down from approximately 12,000 an hour last Friday, and had been holding steady for the last 48 hours. "I'd agree with MessageLabs," said Masiello on Tuesday. "It does look like they are in the process of building up the botnet." MX Logic has not seen any evidence that the Waledec botnet is, in turn, sending spam of its own.

Several botnets that were heavily disrupted by the takedown of McColo Corp., a California-based hosting company, are in the same condition, Masiello added. After suffering losses when McColo -- which had hosted command-and-control servers for several botnets, particular one dubbed "Srizbi" and other called "Rustock" -- was yanked off the Internet, they have spent the last several months adding new PCs to their collection.

proRAT - download the most deadly Remote Administration Tool(RAT)

STEP-1 - Download the ProRat zip setup from the following link -->  DOWNLOAD

STEP-2: Creating the ProRat server. Click on the "Create" button in the bottom. Choose "Create ProRat Server".

STEP-3: Open Notifications. Select second option "Mail Notification". In the E-MAIL field you will see a mail
id: bomberman@yahoo.com. Remove this mail ID and give your own mail id here. You will receive a notification
email on this email id whenever you victim will be connected to internet from the infected system.

STEP-4: Open General settings. This tab is the most important tab. In the check boxes. here is a quick overview
of what they mean and which should be checked.

Key:

[ ] = dont check
[x] = check

[ ] Give a Fake Error Message. (when they open the file, it gives an error message.
[x] Melt server on install. (this will cause the server to ALWAYS connect to the internet when the victim gets
online)
[x] Kill AV - FW on Install. (this causes the anti-virus and firewalls to SHUT DOWN and stay off once installed
on the victim's computer.
[x] Disable Windows XP SP2 security center
[x] Disable Windows XP Firewall
[x] Clear Windows XP Restore Points
[ ] Dont send LAN notifications ( keeps other computers on the victim's network from knowing about you )
[ ] Protection for removing local server

In the Invisibility Box, check all 4 boxes.

STEP-5: Open Bind With File. You can bind your server\downloader server with a file that you want. You must
click on the ''Bind the server with a file'' button and then the file button will be activated. You can choose
a file to be binded with the server now. A good suggestion is a picture because that is a small file and its
easer to send to the people you need.

STEP-6: Open Server Extensions. I prefer using .exe files, because it is cryptable. Mostly crypters don't
support .bat/.pif/.com etc. So use .exe files.

STEP-7: Open Server Icon. You can select the one you want to use with the server from the small pictures on the
menu. You can use an icon from your computer also. Press the "Choose new icon" button.

STEP-8: After this, press "Create server", your server will be in the same folder as ProRat. A new file with
name "binded_server" will be created. Rename this file to something describing the picture.

[NOTE: PLS DO NOT OPEN THE FILE "binded_server" on your system.]

STEP-9: Sending this file "binded_server" to victim. You can send this trojan server via email, pendrive or if
you have physical access to the system, go and run the file.

From EMAIL, you can not send this file as it is because it will be detected as TROJAN OR VIRUS. Password protect this file with
ZIP and then email it. Once your victime download this ZIP file, ask him to unlock it using ZIP password. When
the victim will double click on the file, he will be in your control.

STEP-10: Connecting to the victim's computer. Once the server has been sent and the person has opened this ZIP
folder, they will now be infected with it. AND HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT IT!. On the top of the ProRat program you
will see a box in the upper left corner. Type in the victim's IP address and make sure the port is 5110. Now
press Connect. You should now see a pop-up box wanting to know a password. Remember the password you entered
while creating the server? that is what you need to type. By default, it is "123456" without quotes.

STEP-11: Check your email, (junk in needed), and find the “Your victim is online”. Copy and paste the IP
address onto ProRat where it says “IP:[127.0.0.1]“. Press CONNECT, DO NOT CHANGE THE PORT, if u did change it
back to 5110. Type in the password (default is usually 123456, it is in the email). Your done, now you can mess
with the buttons on the program. Especially the GIVE DAMAGE button. It will damage their pc by format, and will
make the computer useless.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus source code leaked - Download it !!!

The source code for one of Kaspersky's security suite products has been leaked online. You can download it from torrent and file hosting. websites for free.
It is reported that these sources were stolen from Kaspersky Lab in 2008 and the last changes made to them date from December 2007. The Kaspersky source code that recently made its way onto public websites was leaked by a former employee of the antivirus vendor, who is already serving a prison sentence for intellectual property theft. The former worker was subsequently arrested and sentenced to three years in jail, to be followed by another three of supervised release.

The code is written in C++ and  Delphi and covers the anti-virus engine, as well as the anti-phishing, anti-dialer, anti-spam, parental control, and other modules. Kaspersky stressed the security of its current products was not at risk because they only contained small parts of the leaked code which didn't concern protection functions.
We don't know yet to what version of Kaspersky's security suite the sources actually correspond to, but 8.0 is the most likely candidate at this point.
